Knock Knock

This isn't new, but I know a lot of kids who could identify. For my students who won't relate from personal experience, it will at least help them to recognize the power of poetry.

I think MySpace and Facebook are the only websites my district blocks.

I am still waiting for speakers, a printer, and computer-to-projector, but this video is top on my list of videos to show when my computer is more than a gradebook and a desk clutterer.

You can also download videos from Youtube and put them on a flash drive. With all our crazy teacher money we should buy external terabyte drives for all the movies we play. Wait, we are not Social Studies teachers or coaches.

I was going to ask how to save a video to a flash drive by email, but I thought there might be somebody else who wants to know. I can't figure it out. Do I need any other software for that? I look for directions online, but if you know a good way, let me know.

I had to break down and buy myself some new speakers for my classroom, and all the cables to convert from AV to 3.5mm. The school might have been willing, but I knew it would take them months, if not years, to get it done correctly. Now, when it comes to the projector, I'm not willing to go quite that far out of pocket. Maybe there's some grant money you can get your hands on? Or use that site where people can donate directly? Or you could just start coaching... Oh, maybe you could tell a coach you'll use some of your class time to show game tape if they get you a projector!

Never mind about the downloading. I found a great little free program called Free Download 2.3.2.65 from DVDvideosoft.com Works like a dream, saves the videos to a separate file in My Documents, allows for conversion to multiple formats. Well worth the nothing I paid for it.
