Murphy's Law: Gorman's Pizza Corollary

I have always been a fan of Murphy's Law. For those of you who are unfamiliar, Murphy's Law states that "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong."

There's a whole taxonomy of corollaries that can be extrapolated from Murphy's Law. I used to have a page-a-day calendar of them. My favorite did not come from the calendar, but from one of my professors in college, Vic Bobb, who once said, "If there are two drops of rain falling from the sky, they will both fall on your glasses, one on each lens."

Tonight I discovered my own, which shall henceforth be known as Gorman's Pizza Corollary: "If you have three pizza boxes in your refrigerator, regardless of your presumption of their order, the one you want will always be the third you open."

Awesome post. Do you mind if I ask what your source is for this information?

Blogger thought this post was spam. There aren't any links to gambling or porn sites in it, though, so I'm not sure why. Perhaps because it's a big vague and not necessarily related to my post. If it is, though, I can answer the question: My source is personal experience. I had three pizza boxes in my fridge because my small family is picky and all three of us like different things on our pizza. While hunting for mine, I had to open all three and realized that always seems to be the way of things. I'm sure some kind of labeling system could be devised which could prevent this minor annoyance, but it was more fun to complain about it. I thought to myself, if only there were some means, provided for free by strangers and publicized predominantly to spammers interested in increasing the size/severity of my penis and/or gambling habit, by which I could grouse about something that could be easily remedied by writing initials on pizza boxes? Then I remembered that is exactly what blogs are made for. There. Asked and answered.
